Privacy policy

Way Finding Wars is developed by Little Hearts Software. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

Your game progress

The game saves settings, mission unlocks, medals, best times and recovery information on your device so you can play offline. If you choose to connect Google Play Games, the game uses your Play Games player identifier and synchronizes progression records through Google's Saved Games service. Records are merged to preserve completed missions and better results. A battle currently in progress stays on the device.

From version 0.25.49, Settings → Progress & Privacy → DISCONNECT ACCOUNT disables cloud synchronization and automatic online sign-in on this device. Earlier versions use Turn Off Cloud Sync for synchronization. Disconnecting does not delete previously stored cloud progress or the separate online server record. Google provides controls for deleting Play Games data in your Google account. Removing app data on your device removes local saves; linked cloud data may return when you reconnect.

Account-linked online play

After you explicitly connect an Online Record in version 0.25.49 or later, the app remembers that choice on this device and asks Google Play Games to restore your identity at later starts. Official online and Daily actions request a fresh server authorization code. The app does not save or reuse those codes or Google access tokens. DISCONNECT ACCOUNT turns off automatic restoration; public leaderboard participation remains a separate choice.

When you use Google Play Games for online account statistics, the official game server verifies a one-time Google authorization code and obtains a game-scoped player identifier. The server stores a pseudonymous account key and confirmed match results, including the outcome, duration, completion time, finish reason and remaining Core health. These records provide your statistics and recent battle history across devices. Guest and LAN records remain on the device and are not uploaded into the verified account record. The service does not request your email address or store Google passwords, authorization codes, access tokens or refresh tokens.

Turning off campaign cloud sync or deleting Google Play Games data does not automatically delete the separate multiplayer server record. Contact [email protected] to request deletion of data held by Little Hearts Software; identity verification will be needed. Server match records are retained to provide your account history and prevent duplicate result counting until account deletion is requested or the service is retired. The in-game battle log displays the most recent 25 results.

Optional public leaderboard

Anyone can view the in-game online leaderboard without connecting a Google account. Joining is a separate, voluntary choice under Play Online → Ranks after connecting an Online Record. If you join, the server publishes a randomly assigned Commander name, Elo rating, rank and ranked match count. It never publishes your Google name, email address or internal account identifier. One confirmed ranked match is required to appear. Your existing rating is used; campaign, guest, private-room and rematch results do not count.

Choose Leave Public Leaderboard to remove your entry from future standings. Your rating and private match history remain, and your assigned Commander name is retained if you join again. Standings already viewed or copied by others cannot be recalled. Contact [email protected] for account-data deletion requests.

Daily Operations

Official Daily Operations battles run offline on your device. The Daily menu loads the challenge and your Online Record before play. Your device keeps a command and simulation-time journal so you can resume the same attempt on this device. After the result, it uploads that journal to our private server for replay verification. The server stores your account key, challenge, optional migrated gameplay checkpoint, uploaded actions and verified outcome until account-data deletion or service retirement. Only one submitted result per account and UTC day counts; offline play cannot prove the first start across devices. An in-progress local attempt cannot move to another device. Results must arrive within the daily finish window.

From version 0.25.52, Daily rankings use Google Play Games. Opening the leaderboard does not enable uploads. If you separately choose SHARE VERIFIED SCORES WITH GOOGLE, the game sends a combined score derived from your verified result to Google under your Play Games account. Your Play Games profile name and score may appear publicly according to your Google visibility settings; the developer does not control that profile name. This choice is independent of the anonymous Commander leaderboard for 1v1 matches. The device stores your sharing choice, current Google period, pending score and upload acknowledgement separately for each linked account. Failed uploads retry only within the same Google period. Challenges and Google daily scores reset at 07:00 UTC; the ten-minute result-verification window does not extend Google’s previous-day upload window. Turning future uploads off does not remove scores already stored by Google. Use Google’s Play Games data and profile controls to manage those scores. Earlier app versions may still show the historical Commander Daily board; existing attempts and results are retained. Account-data deletion includes developer-held Daily records, uploaded journals, applicable recovery checkpoints and backups. Minimal erased-attempt identifiers prevent stale uploads from restoring deleted records. Google-held scores are managed separately through Google’s controls.

Advertising and privacy choices

The game integrates Google AdMob for interstitial advertisements between eligible completed matches. Advertisements do not grant gameplay rewards. Development builds currently use Google's sample advertisements. Production advertisements will be enabled only after the required setup and checks are complete.

When the Google Mobile Ads SDK operates, Google may collect and share IP addresses (including approximate location inferred from them), device or account identifiers, interactions with the app or advertisements, and diagnostic information. Google describes the purposes as advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. The SDK encrypts these transmissions. The game does not request GPS permission for advertising.

Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform presents privacy choices before advertisements can be requested. When available, you can review or withdraw choices through Settings → Progress & Privacy → AD PRIVACY & AGE. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertisements. Your Android settings also provide controls for the advertising identifier.

Device-local age category

From version 0.25.14, Settings → Progress & Privacy → AD PRIVACY & AGE offers an optional age category: Under 18, 18 or older, or Prefer not to say. No birth date is requested. The category is saved in private app preferences on this device and is not uploaded with game progress or online records. Ads stay off for unknown age and under-18 players. Adults may receive ads only after the applicable Google privacy flow succeeds. Choosing a protected category clears locally cached consent choices and prevents further ad requests; clearing app data removes the age preference. Playing and saving progress remain available for every choice.

Optional play measurements

Sharing is off by default. When first starting one of campaign missions 1–3, you can choose to share if you are 18 or older, choose not to share, or choose Under 18 / Prefer not to say. All choices allow the same offline play, rewards and saves. Review your choice at Settings → Progress & Privacy → PLAY MEASUREMENTS. These choices are separate from Google accounts, cloud saves and advertising consent.

If enabled, Little Hearts Software receives a random installation identifier, app version and build channel, event times, app opens/backgrounding/returns, and measurements for campaign missions 1–3: mission selection/start/recovery/outcome, optional medal counts, repeat attempts, first troop deployment, tutorial pages shown/advanced/skipped/replayed/finished and first-mission guide steps. No names, email addresses, Google account IDs, advertising IDs, screen recordings, precise location or free-text input are included. The random identifier links these measurements across visits on this installation; it is pseudonymous, not a claim of anonymity. Clearing app data or reinstalling can break this link.

Records are stored on the developer's Mac mini and expire after 30 days. The game keeps at most 128 unsent events locally for up to seven days and uploads outside active combat and tutorial films. Measurements may be incomplete, for example after a forced app shutdown. Little Hearts Software does not keep measurement database backups or log measurement request bodies or visitor IP addresses at its application origin. Cloudflare provides encrypted transport and may process connection metadata under its own policies; self-hosting does not mean no infrastructure provider can see such metadata.

DON'T SHARE or STOP SHARING & DELETE stops collection, clears unsent events and requests removal of this installation's server measurements. If offline, the deletion credential remains in measurement preferences until the server confirms deletion. An opaque attempt reference may remain in a local battle checkpoint; it cannot restore sharing or the erased installation identity. Sharing cannot be enabled while that request is pending. A minimal installation identifier and hashed deletion credential remain on the server for up to 30 days to reject delayed uploads. After deletion, opting in creates a new random identifier. If you remove app data before a pending deletion is sent, automatic deletion cannot be completed from that installation; existing measurements still expire after 30 days. Contact [email protected] for questions.

Service providers

Google operates the Play Games, Saved Games, AdMob and consent services used by the game. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Campaign progression uses Google Saved Games. When account-linked online play is enabled, Little Hearts Software separately stores verified multiplayer results on its game server.

Delete your account and game data

You can request deletion without installing the game or signing in on this website. Email [email protected] with the subject “Way Finding Wars account data deletion”. Tell us whether you want your online account record, Google cloud progress, or both removed. If you can access the game, connect your Online Record under Play Online, then open Settings → Progress & Privacy → Delete Account Data. Copy the private deletion reference displayed there and include it in your request. The reference is valid for up to seven days and should be shared only with Little Hearts Software support. If you cannot access the game, email us for help verifying ownership. We verify ownership before deleting account data. Never send your Google password, authorization codes or authentication tokens.

Online account record: deletion removes your server-side battle history, rating and public leaderboard membership and assigned Commander name. Other players retain their own results. Minimal match identifiers and one-way result digests may remain to prevent delayed results from recreating deleted records; these contain no player identifier. Signing in and playing again can create a new online record.

Google cloud progress: turn off cloud sync in Settings → Progress & Privacy before deleting the game’s Play Games data using Google’s controls. Follow Google’s instructions for deleting Play Games data. Removing cloud progress does not remove the separate online record held by Little Hearts Software.

Local saves: removing Way Finding Wars app data in Android settings erases local progress, preferences and battle checkpoints. Back up any progress you want to keep first. Local progress may upload again if you reconnect cloud sync; cloud progress may return if only local data was removed. Offline play is available without a linked account.

Online records are retained until deletion is requested or the service is retired. Completed deletion requests include applicable recovery journals and developer-managed backups before we confirm completion. Google manages data collected by its own services under its policies. Disabling synchronization or leaving the public leaderboard alone does not delete all account data.

Retention and deletion

Local game records remain until app data is removed or overwritten by normal gameplay. Cloud records remain with the Google service until deleted through its available controls. Disabling synchronization alone does not erase them. Google controls retention of information collected by its advertising services under its policies. Contact the developer for questions or requests concerning data held directly by the developer; do not send passwords or authentication tokens.

Changes
